My Experience With the Serpent Power
As a teen in the 70's I wandered from my Reformed roots into mysticism. Before coming back to Christ I had taken close to 200 doses of LSD, and a great many other mind-altering chemicals, some of which my friends and I created in our own home "labs."
During this time I read a great many books on mediation, alchemy, and sorcery. When I got to the University of Michigan I joined the Siddha Yoga Ashram which was under the spiritual control of Muktananda Paramahansa via his locally chosen guru.
I used to go there and practice mediation, chant the times of Hindu gods. Eat the food from the altar which was chanted over and thus empowered with the guru's grace.
The time came when they offered people the opportunity to receive training culminating in shaktipat initiation. I underwent the training and at the end of the ceremony the local guru came and laid his hands on my head.
When he laid hands on me my eyes immediately shot upwards into my head and I felt currents of electricity flow into my body.
When the guru went to others and laind hands on them some of them began to breath loudly and rapidly, some made physical movements, and other manifestations.
I continued with the Ashram for a little while longer. . .fortunately the Lord Jesus Christ had other plans for my life and I was drawn back to complete faith in Him and Him alone. I renounced all of my former practices upon returning to my Savior.
