Frequently Asked Questions The following are answers to questions that have been asked of us over the years. Please read through them BEFORE you send us an email. Question --- Is this really a ministry? I don’t see it in the Bible. Answer --- Yes Apologetics and Polemics are real ministries. The Bible commands us to “… sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Peter 3:15). Also in Eph. 5:11-13 “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.” Question --- Why do you name ministers names on your site? Answer --- We name peoples names for several reasons. First, it is Biblical. Paul cites the names of people who were detrimental to the Gospel (2 Timothy 4:14). Also, how could you fulfill Romans 16:17 apart from naming the people involved? “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” It is not helpful to simply say that there are false teachers and false prophets deceiving people without telling them who these individuals are. Question --- Doesn’t the Bible tell us not to touch God’s anointed? Isn’t that what you are guilty of? Answer ---“Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” (1 Chronicles 16:22). This text has nothing to do with reproving, rebuking, exhorting or warning others of spiritual danger. David rebuked King Saul (God’s anointed) OPENLY. Paul rebuked Peter, surely one of God’s anointed, OPENLY. Jesus rebuked the “anointed” religious leaders of Israel OPENLY on many occasions. No one in the Church is beyond correction. People in public ministry must be held to a higher standard for the sake of those who follow them. Question --- You don’t seem very loving. Aren’t you helping the Accuser of the Brethren by doing what you do? Answer --- Biblical love demands that we WARN those in the Body of what we know to be serious doctrinal error. It would be unloving to allow those around us to remain in deception without striving to see them liberated. Jesus taught very plainly in John 8:31-32 “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” God’s Word properly taught in its context will LIBERATE the one who hears & does that Word. The Word mishandled places people in bondage. Satan is the Bondage maker and Jesus is the bondage-breaker. We are exposing the unfruitful & unprofitable works of Satan. If you got to know us, you’d love us to be loving and very passionate about the truth of God’s word. Question --- Do you pray for these ministers and their work? Answer --- Yes we do. In fact, we have written most of them and even used certified mail BEFORE we have gone on the web site. We attempt to follow Matthew 18, and when we have been rejected then we take it to the Church. The best way is through the Internet. So our ministry does pray for them, tries to contact them, and when they refuse to change, then we expose them for the safety of the Body of Christ. Question --- What makes you an expert on these people? Answer --- My wife and I worked with many of the people we now take exception to. We were full-time charismatic ministers for many years. What we write about we know most times from firsthand experience. Read “Our Story” for more insights into who we are. Question --- Do you still speak in tongues? Answer --- After spending over 5,000+ hours praying in the spirit, we would rather commune rationally with our Lord. Our ministry does not believe this and the other “sign” gifts are in genuine operation today. Question --- Do you believe God has restored Apostles & Prophets back to the Church? Answer --- No. When a house is built the first thing that is laid is the foundation, then the superstructure is built upon that foundation. Ephesians 2:20 tells us that the Church was built upon the foundation of the apostles & prophets. God has been building on that original foundation ever since. Question --- Can one be a false prophet and still be a Christian? Answer --- We believe people can be misled into thinking they are something they are not. One can believe they are a prophet, others can believe they are . . .and yet they are not. This would make them false prophets, but probably sincere, but very deceived Christians. There are others who are tares sown by Satan among the wheat of God (Matthew 13:25) people like Jim Jones, Prophet Jones, David Koresh and others. Question --- Where does your ministry land regarding the KJV only debate? Answer --- I appreciate the KJV and use it throughout the web site. I also appreciate and use other translations in my research. I believe some translations are very poor and inaccurate, others I find to be very sound. Frankly, we are happy whenever people read the Bible in whatever translation (excepting the New World Translation, the new gender neutral perversion, etc.). Question --- What is your ministries stance on the end times? Answer --- We believe we are in them right now. There are sound arguments to be made regarding pre and post tribulation views. We do not deal with this issue on our web site, because we believe we all need to live for Jesus Christ each day and live as though it is our last day. Jesus could come for us today, He may not return for 100’s of more years. You and I are accountable for how we live our lives Corem Deo. Question --- Are you Calvanists? Answer --- We are “5-pointers” if that is what you mean. Please read our Statement of Faith page. Question --- What ministers or ministries do you recommend? Answer --- We appreciate the work of many ministers, here is a short list. Dr. R. C. Sproul, Ravi Zacharias, John Gerstner, Dr. Wayne House, Dr. Norman Geisler, Dr. John McArthur. See our Links Page to see what ministries we are linked to. Question --- Do you believe the Church is undergoing revival right now? Answer --- If you mean via the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, the Brownsville Assembly of God or through the Smithton group, no. The so-called charismatic revival is a confusing mixture or flesh and demonic activity. Read our books which provide extensive evidence for our belief. The New Testament does not teach that there shall be a great ingathering of souls right before the return of Christ. It shows exactly the opposite. If anything the Church is undergoing judgment, which does begin at the house of God first (1 Peter 4:17). Question --- You sell items and ask for money, so what makes you different from those you attack? Answer --- Our ministry has no problems with any ministry selling their books, tapes, videos at a fair price (we do have problems with the content). We also recognize that it takes money to operate in ministry. What we decry is the lifestyles of the rich-and-famous that almost all of these roving healers and televangelists live. We believe those who preach the Gospel have a right to make their living by the Gospel (1 Corinthians 9:14), but that their lifestyle should be modest versus extravagant. Question --- Doesn’t love cover sins, yet you are exposing them? Answer ---Let’s not forget the context --- James 4:19,20 “Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” It is talking about bringing someone back to the truth from their errors. It has nothing to do with hiding “sins.” The Bible is one of the few books that exposes the sins of God’s people in almost every one of the 66 books! Question --- You sound bitter because of your own negative experiences with some questionable charismatic leaders. Isn’t this “ministry” simply your method of getting back at them? Answer --- We are not bitter at all. The “questionable” leaders we followed happen to be the ones spearheading the renewal movement. We know these men and women to be teaching damaging and at times blasphemous doctrines. We know many of them have gained great wealth through false-promises and Scripture twisting. Because of what we know, we are obligated to warn others and this we do. Question --- What is the fruit of your ministry? Answer --- Thousands have visited the web site. Over a gig of information is downloaded on a monthly basis from it. Over 400+ emails are send each week, many of them testimonies of deliverance from error through our ministry. Our books and tapes have been sold and given to people & ministries around the world. We must be doing something right. |
